Chemists' Own PROCHECK Vitamin D Rapid Test detects 25-hydroxyvitamin D [25(OH)D], the main storage form of vitamin D in the body. By measuring 25(OH)D levels, the test provides an indication of overall vitamin D status. Levels below 30 ng/mL may suggest vitamin D deficiency or insufficiency. In such cases, vitamin D supplements may be recommended by a healthcare professional, and the effectiveness of supplementation can be monitored using this test.
For self-testing in vitro diagnostic use only. Store in a dry place at 2-30C, avoiding excess moisture. Do not use if the foil packaging is damaged or opened. This kit is intended as a preliminary test only. Abnormal results (deficient, insufficient, or excess) should be discussed with a doctor or medical professional. Follow the indicated time strictly. Use the test only once. Do not dismantle or touch the test window of the cassette. Do not freeze the kit or use after the expiration date printed on the package. Keep out of reach of children. Discard used tests according to local regulations. Children under 14 should complete the test with adult supervision. Care Instructions Wash your hands with soap and rinse with warm water. Bring the pouch to room temperature before opening. Remove the test cassette and place it on a clean, level surface. Run the test within one hour. Best results are obtained if performed immediately after opening the pouch. Remove the dropper, buffer vial, lancet, and alcohol pad, and place them near the cassette. Steps: Pull off and dispose of the cap from the lancet. Use the alcohol pad to clean the fingertip (middle or ring finger). Allow to air dry. Press the lancet on the cleaned finger. The tip retracts automatically after use. Massage the hand toward the fingertip to produce a blood drop. Without squeezing, place the capillary dropper against the blood drop. Blood will fill to the indicated line. Ensure no air bubbles. If needed, massage again to obtain more blood. Release the collected blood into the Specimen well (S) of the cassette by squeezing the dropper bulb. Wait until the blood is fully dispensed. Unscrew the buffer bottle cap and add 2 drops into the Buffer well (B). Start a timer. Wait for the coloured line(s) to appear. Read results at 10 minutes. Compare the T line intensity with the Vitamin D Colour Card" provided in the kit.
